Irondequoit NY Forward
The Titus-Cooper-Hudson District has been one of Irondequoit’s primary commercial centers for more than a century. As auto-oriented development patterns began to emerge in recent decades, characterized by wide roads and deep setbacks served by numerous parking lots, the historic and mixed-use “Town Square” character of the district has been lost somewhere along the way. As public sentiment shifts to embrace walkable communities and suburban retrofits, community feedback has highlighted the need for a more thoughtful and pedestrian-friendly approach that incorporates quality of life indicators. With momentum already underway and transformative opportunities ahead, now is the time to act for future generations of Irondequoit residents. NY Forward funding will allow the Town to make critical investments that can turn hopes and dreams into realized potential.
